Skinwalker — Nullscape Enemy Guide

The Skinwalker disguises itself as other players in Nullscape co-op. Learn how to identify, counter, and survive this terrifying mimicry enemy.

Skinwalker

Danger Rating: 5/5

The Skinwalker is one of the most insidious enemies in Nullscape, capable of disguising itself as another player in your co-op party. It perfectly mimics the appearance, movement animations, and even the username of a teammate, making it nearly impossible to distinguish at a glance. In solo play, Skinwalkers do not spawn — they are exclusively a co-op threat.

Behavior Pattern

A Skinwalker begins its encounter by seamlessly integrating into your group. It will follow players, mimic basic actions like jumping and running, and even attempt to "help" with combat by attacking real enemies — poorly. Its disguise lasts until it decides to strike, at which point it reveals its true form and unleashes a devastating melee attack that deals massive damage.

The key behavioral tells are subtle but learnable. Skinwalkers cannot use items or abilities, so watch for teammates who never seem to deploy their loadout. They also trail slightly behind the group rather than leading, and their movement has a barely perceptible stutter on direction changes. In Doom in Bloom, Patch 5 improved their AI to occasionally use emotes to appear more natural.

Spawn Conditions

Skinwalkers spawn only in co-op runs with 2 or more players. They appear starting from Bloom Tier 2 onward, replacing a random Husk spawn with a 15% chance per room. The chance increases to 25% on Extreme difficulty. They never spawn during boss encounters.

Counters

  • Verify identities constantly. Use ping systems, voice chat, or visual checks to confirm your teammates.
  • Watch for behavioral anomalies — no ability usage, trailing position, movement stutter.
  • Test with a quick damage check. A single weak hit dealt to a suspicious "teammate" will force the Skinwalker to reveal itself.
  • Stay spread out so the Skinwalker's reveal attack can't hit multiple players.

Tips

Communication is your strongest weapon against Skinwalkers. Establish a call-and-response system with your team at the start of each run — a simple "jump twice if you're real" can save lives. If you're ever unsure, it's better to test-attack a suspicious player than to risk the ambush. In Extreme co-op, a Skinwalker wipe is one of the most common run-enders, so take every room transition as a chance to re-verify your squad.
