Grace Wings

Grace Wings is a mobility upgrade that alters your falling physics, significantly reducing your descent speed and enabling a gliding mechanic. When falling from height, Grace Wings activate automatically, allowing you to drift slowly through the air and steer your landing with greater precision.

How It Works

After purchasing Grace Wings, your character's fall speed is reduced to roughly one-third of normal. This applies to any situation where you are descending — falling off a ledge, dropping through a floor gap, or descending after a jump. While falling slowly, you retain full horizontal control, meaning you can steer left and right to position yourself over safe ground.

The gliding effect is automatic but can be toggled off if you need to drop quickly. Pressing the drop input while Grace Wings is active temporarily cancels the slow-fall effect, allowing you to plummet at normal speed. This is useful when you need to reach a lower platform quickly or want to fast-fall through enemies to use a ground-based attack.

Grace Wings also reduces or eliminates fall damage in most situations, as the reduced velocity keeps you below the damage threshold. This makes it invaluable in vertical biomes with long drops between platforms.

Cost and Availability

Grace Wings is priced in the moderate Sheckles range and appears with reasonable frequency in Mart rotations. It is a popular mid-game purchase that pairs well with other mobility upgrades for advanced traversal strategies.

Tier Ranking: B

Grace Wings earns a B-tier ranking because it provides strong utility for aerial control and fall damage prevention, but it does not offer the raw movement power of S-tier options like Adrenaline or Double Jump. It is a comfort upgrade that makes platforming more forgiving and opens up some creative route options, but it is not essential in the way that Double Jump is. In vertical-heavy biomes, however, Grace Wings can feel like an A-tier upgrade.

Best Synergies

  • Double Jump: Jump, then glide with Grace Wings, then use your second jump to regain altitude. This jump-glide-jump cycle provides exceptional aerial coverage.
  • Grapple Points: Grapple to a high anchor, release, glide with Grace Wings to survey the room, and plan your next move. The aerial perspective alone is valuable.
  • Ninja Belt: Wall jump, glide away from the wall, then wall jump on another surface. Grace Wings gives you the air time to cross between walls.
  • Orb: The light from Orb lets you see the ground below while gliding in dark areas, preventing blind landings.

Tips

Use the glide to buy time in combat. Jumping over enemies and gliding gives you a safe vantage point to assess the situation, dodge projectiles, and plan your next move. In platforming sections, the reduced fall speed gives you extra time to react to moving platforms and timed hazards below.
