Pocket Bell
Pocket Bell is a co-op utility upgrade that allows you to summon a nearby ally to your current position. When activated, the nearest teammate is instantly teleported to your side, enabling rapid regrouping, rescue maneuvers, and coordinated plays that would otherwise require long-distance travel to execute.
How It Works
Pressing the Pocket Bell activation input scans for the nearest allied player within a maximum range. If an ally is in range, they are teleported directly to your location with a brief visual effect. The ability has a cooldown between uses, preventing spam and ensuring it is used tactically rather than as a constant movement tool.
The summon works in both directions conceptually — any player with Pocket Bell can bring allies to them. In a full co-op party with multiple Pocket Bells, the team gains tremendous flexibility to regroup after being separated by enemy encounters, traps, or platforming challenges that split the party.
It is important to note that Pocket Bell has no effect in solo play. The upgrade is completely useless without at least one other player in the run, which significantly limits its general applicability.
Cost and Availability
Pocket Bell is priced in the low Sheckles range, reflecting its situational nature. It appears in Mart rotations with average frequency. In co-op runs, it is a fun and occasionally useful pickup. In solo runs, it should always be passed over in favor of any other available upgrade.
Tier Ranking: C
Pocket Bell earns a C-tier ranking primarily because it is co-op only. In a game where many players spend the majority of their time in solo runs, an upgrade that requires teammates to function is inherently limited in value. Even in co-op, the utility is nice but rarely game-changing — good communication and map awareness can accomplish most of what Pocket Bell does without spending Sheckles on it. It is a fun novelty and occasionally clutch, but not a priority upgrade.
Best Synergies
- Shield: Summon an ally to you, and both of you have Shield protection. If the teleport puts the ally in danger, their Shield absorbs the hit.
- Adrenaline: If you are being chased and use Pocket Bell to bring an ally, both of you trigger Adrenaline from nearby enemies, doubling the team's escape speed.
- Radar: See where your ally is on the minimap before summoning, ensuring they are in range and not in a position where teleporting would put them in worse danger.
- Blossom: Bring an ally with Blossom to your position so they can benefit from the healing aura near you during tough encounters.
Tips
Only buy Pocket Bell in co-op runs, and only if you have already purchased your core mobility and defensive upgrades. Communicate with your team before using it — summoning an ally into a dangerous situation can be counterproductive. Use it to regroup after boss fights or to rescue a teammate who is low on health and far from safety.
