Grapple Points

Grapple Points is a traversal upgrade that adds grapple anchors to the environment, allowing you to swing across gaps, reach elevated platforms, and access areas that would otherwise be impossible to get to. It transforms the way you navigate rooms and opens up entirely new routes through every biome.

How It Works

When you purchase Grapple Points, anchor locations appear throughout the environment that you can target and grapple to. Pressing the grapple input while aiming at a visible anchor launches a tether that pulls you toward the anchor point. During the grapple, you maintain momentum and can release at any point to carry that momentum into a jump or directional movement.

The grapple anchors are strategically placed in locations that bridge gaps, connect vertical spaces, and provide alternate paths around enemy-heavy areas. Some anchors are hidden in less obvious spots, rewarding exploration and careful observation. Mastering the grapple physics — understanding when to release for maximum distance, how to chain between anchors, and how to combine grapple movement with your existing mobility tools — takes practice but is incredibly rewarding once it clicks.

Cost and Availability

Grapple Points is priced in the upper-moderate Sheckles range. It appears regularly in Mart rotations but is not as common as basic upgrades. The investment is well worth it for players who want to maximize their route options and access secret areas that contain bonus Sheckles, rare items, and shortcut passages.

Tier Ranking: A

Grapple Points earns an A-tier ranking because it dramatically expands your movement options and unlocks content that is otherwise inaccessible. It falls short of S-tier only because its value is somewhat dependent on the specific room layouts you encounter. In rooms with well-placed anchors, Grapple Points feels like an S-tier upgrade. In rooms where anchors are sparse or poorly positioned, it sees less use. On average, however, the traversal flexibility it provides is outstanding.

Best Synergies

  • Double Jump: Grapple to an anchor, release, and use your second jump at the apex for extreme distance. This combination is one of the most powerful movement tools in the game.
  • Adrenaline: Grapple past enemy groups to trigger Adrenaline, then use the speed boost combined with swing momentum to cross rooms in seconds.
  • Ninja Belt: Wall jump off a surface, grapple to an anchor, and wall jump again — chaining three movement mechanics for complex vertical and horizontal traversal.
  • Radar: Use Radar to spot enemies near grapple routes, allowing you to plan safer paths through dangerous rooms.

Tips

Practice releasing the grapple at the right moment. Releasing too early wastes momentum, while holding on too long pulls you into the anchor point and kills your speed. The optimal release point is usually about forty-five degrees into your swing arc. Also, look for hidden anchors in corners and behind objects — they often lead to the best loot rooms.
