Radar is an information upgrade that displays enemy positions on your minimap, giving you advance warning of threats before you encounter them visually. In a game where ambushes and dense enemy placements can instantly end a run, having foreknowledge of enemy positions is an enormous tactical advantage.

How It Works

After purchasing Radar, enemy icons appear on your minimap overlay within a certain radius around your character. The detection radius is generous enough to give you several seconds of warning before enemies come into visual range, allowing you to plan your approach, choose alternate routes, or prepare for combat. Different enemy types may display with different icons on the minimap, helping you identify threats at a glance.

The Radar updates in real time as enemies move, so you can track patrol patterns and identify safe windows to move through occupied areas. This is particularly valuable in biomes with limited visibility, such as the Shadow Depths, where enemies can be difficult to spot until they are dangerously close.

Radar is moderately priced and appears frequently in Mart inventories. It is considered a staple upgrade for consistent runs, and most experienced players purchase it early when available. The information advantage it provides compounds over an entire run, making it one of the most cost-effective upgrades in terms of value per Sheckle spent.

Radar earns an A-tier ranking because information is power in Nullscape. Knowing where enemies are before you see them prevents surprise encounters, reduces unnecessary damage, and enables faster route optimization. It is not S-tier because it provides no direct combat or mobility benefit — it is purely informational. However, the indirect value of that information is immense, and most players consider Radar essential for consistent run completion.

Best Synergies

• Adrenaline: Radar lets you see which enemies will detect you and when, allowing you to intentionally trigger Adrenaline procs for planned speed boosts.
• Defuse Kit: Spot traps and hazard zones on the minimap and navigate around them or disarm them with the Defuse Kit before they become a threat.
• Grapple Points: Plan grapple routes that avoid enemy clusters visible on Radar, keeping you safe during traversal.
• Gift Magnet: Use Radar to identify cleared areas where it is safe to collect items with Gift Magnet without being ambushed.

Tips

Make a habit of glancing at your minimap every few seconds. The Radar is only as valuable as your ability to process the information it provides.
